Initiating transnational talent cultivation and industry-university cooperation, National Chung Cheng University signed a tripartite cooperation memorandum on the 31st with the domestic communication equipment manufacturer Qiqi Technology Co., Ltd. and the University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) affiliated to Hanoi National University. In the future, CCU and Qiqi Technology will provide financial support and employment opportunities for Vietnamese students to come to Taiwan to study for a master's degree, hoping to recruit and retain outstanding talents for the domestic industry.
As an important academic center in Yunlin and Chiayi District, CCU has been actively expanding its internationalization for a long time, continuously strengthening exchanges with overseas higher education institutions and deepening industry-university cooperation in the industry. Witnessed by Tran Van Thuy, deputy representative of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, on the 31st, Zhan-Hua Feng, President of CCU, and Jian-Rong Gao, General Manager and CEO of Qiqi Technology, communicated with the National University of Hanoi project through a video connection sign with Chu Duc Trinh, Vice Chancellor of the University of Technology. In addition to the presence of teachers from CCU and directors of Qiqi Technology, Duo-ming Chu, the head of the education team of the Taiwan Representative Office in Vietnam, also went to Vietnam National University in Hanoi to watch the ceremony online.
The Office of International Affairs stated that the three parties agreed that Vietnam Hanoi National University would recommend 6 graduates each year to the Electrical Engineering Department to study for a master’s degree. After graduation, the students will work for at least 2 years in the factory of Qiqi Technology in Taiwan, Vietnam, or other bases around the world. Zhan-Hua Feng, president of CCU, pointed out that Hanoi National University of Engineering Technology is one of the top universities in the country's engineering field. Increasing the channels for the school to recruit overseas students will also allow Qiqi Technology to discover more outstanding talents. It hopes that the two schools will jointly match Qiqi Technology with the communication technology talents needed by the industry and create a win-win situation.
Chu Duc Trinh, Vice President of the University of Engineering and Technology, Hanoi National University, Vietnam, said that the students of the two schools will benefit from each other and gain more opportunities for resource sharing and development through the signing of the contract. Jian-Rong Gao, general manager and CEO of Qiqi Technology said that for Taiwan, Vietnam, and even Asia, this signing is a very good cross-border industry-university cooperation. In the future, he also hopes to continue to strengthen the relationship between the two universities and welcome outstanding talents to join Qiqi Technology to develop industry-university cooperation in Taiwan or across borders.
In addition, after the signing ceremony, Jian-Rong Gao, the general manager, and CEO of Qiqi Technology, led the company's executives and more than ten foreign guests to visit the current situation of electrical and communication-related research and development of the Engineering department of CCU. The Department of Electrical Engineering of CCU has made outstanding achievements in the field of electromagnetic chips. In addition to emphasizing the combination of theory and practice, it also cultivates students with basic component knowledge and high-level Internet software and hardware knowledge and technology applications.
CCU stated that the tripartite agreement between Taiwan and Vietnam’s industry and academia, will facilitate the flow and sharing of talents, and provide students from the two countries with opportunities for internship and career development.
