Since the founding of National Chung Cheng University in 1978, four black swans have been raised in Tranquility Lake, and they have been successfully nurtured. Twenty-five pairs have been bred and given to other universities or units. The black swans have become "diplomatic ambassadors". National Yunlin Technology University, National Tsing Hua University, Tainan Xinhua Hutoupi Scenic Area, and Kaohsiung Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Hall are all "in-laws" of Chung Cheng University
