To tackle the challenge of an aging society, Taiwan recognizes the significance of lifelong learning and sustainable development in enhancing the value of its elderly population and promoting social participation. The symposium will take place at Hall 201, Building 1, College of Education, on the 25th and 26th.

As the executive director of the senior education think tank project under the Ministry of Education, Hu has been devoted to promoting senior education and envisions cross-disciplinary senior education that leverages expertise from various fields and resources from different domains.

This symposium has invited scholars and experts from the UK, the US, Switzerland, Japan, South Korea, and other countries to deliver speeches, present papers, and showcase posters on various topics related to lifelong learning. They will share their research findings and practical experiences regarding lifelong learning and sustainable development in their respective countries. Moreover, the event will feature a strategy forum to explore new horizons for lifelong learning and sustainable development. Several domestic scholars and industry professionals will be invited to discuss lifelong learning policies, concepts, models, organizational development, innovative practices, talent cultivation, and more, to collectively address the challenges at hand.

In today's era of Industry 4.0, the importance of lifelong learning cannot be overstated. Continuous innovation and the cultivation of sustainable talents are essential for maintaining competitiveness and adapting to the rapidly changing environment, as emphasized by Wei Huijuan, a professor at the Department of Adult and Continuing Education at Chung Cheng University.
