In the face of severe environmental challenges around the world, “net-zero sustainability” has become a common goal pursued by the international community and has attracted widespread attention. In order to further enhance the public's awareness and practice of sustainable development, Chiayi County Environmental Protection Bureau and National Chung Cheng University recently co-organized a seminar on “Chiayi County's Net-Zero Future, Focus on Just Transformation”. The event explored how to realize a just transition in the pursuit of net-zero goals, hoping to arouse more people's concern and participation in environmental sustainability.

The Department of Accounting and Information Technology (DAIT) said it had invited Yi-Zhen Li, co-founder of Goodboxer, and Derek Ip, founder of PackagePlus, to share their innovative thinking and business models to promote sustainable development and realize net-zero concepts. Through these two entrepreneurs' sharing, participants can understand how to combine the net-zero concept with practical business actions to realize the balance between environmental protection and economic development.

Yi-Zhen Li mentioned that Good Boxer utilizes innovative packaging solutions to reduce the use of single-use plastics. On the other hand, Mr. David Yip focused on the efforts of PackagePlus to reduce the carbon footprint of the company by providing environmentally friendly packaging materials and a circular economy model. Their sharing not only provided concrete industry examples, but also demonstrated the creativity and sense of responsibility of the company in realizing its sustainability goals.

The Department emphasized that the seminar not only enhanced the public's understanding of sustainability issues, but also encouraged them to incorporate the concept of sustainable development into their daily lives and to contribute to environmental protection on a personal level. The Department mentioned that in the future, it is looking forward to establishing a platform to facilitate learning and interaction, not only to spread the concept of sustainable development more widely, but also to encourage participants to take concrete actions to work together for the realization of the net-zero goal and the creation of a more sustainable future.
