National Chung Cheng University Electronics promotes the renovation of green computer rooms

National Chung Cheng University is implementing this project to provide local industries with direct services aimed at improving energy efficiency and clean energy (energy efficiency assessments, seminars, research on renewable energy), and thus hopes to achieve the goals of SDG 7 of the United Nations.
The green computer room reconstruction promoted by the Computer Center of Chung Cheng University is currently one of the largest computer room improvement projects in the country. The comprehensive replacement of equipment not only improves the reliability of computer room maintenance and operation but also improves the quality of teaching and research; it also reduces the overall electricity consumption by about 35% %. The electricity bill of the computer room, which was originally as high as 5 million yuan a year, was reduced by at least 1.7 million yuan, which greatly saved the school's electricity bill, which is of great indicative significance. If the effect of rebuilding a computer room at Chung Cheng University is estimated based on the electricity emission coefficient of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the annual reduction of about 258 tons of carbon dioxide emissions due to energy saving and electricity savings is equivalent to saving 0.7 Daan Forest Park, fulfilling the social responsibility of the university; At the same time, it provides a free textbook on energy saving and carbon reduction, so that neighboring manufacturers, universities, and vocational high schools have actively requested to arrange visits.
