Small rural farmers in Alishan often encounter conflicts of being exploited by middlemen. Female farmers are particularly more vulnerable in their position in the supply chain. Therefore, we hope to use digital marketing tools to help Alishan farmers to build their brands. The main purpose of this project is to encourage students at CCU to develop the creativity and technological media capabilities to assist small farmers of the Alishan tribe, especially female farmers, to cultivate their ability to deal with digital technology tools. These new skills will empower female farmers to communicate with consumers, deliver the beauty of the tribe, and improve the economic development of the aboriginal tribe. Our students will receive relevant practical training from experienced practitioners. Professors from CCU will coach the students to participate in editorial meetings to improve their business knowledge and develop their ability to apply self-media. After the training, students will assist Alishan tribe female farmers to use images and narratives to create their unique tribe cultural stories, develop effective marketing strategies to sell their products, and contribute to the movement of product source transparency assurance. The public can trace the process of how farmers grow organic and healthy agricultural products at any time. This project not only enhances consumers' confidence to purchase safe products but also contributes to having more people understand the aboriginal culture of the Alishan Tsou in Taiwan through digital communication. Furthermore, this project will fulfil the university's social responsibilities by focusing on the perspective of tribal economy and cultural revival.
