Section 3.1 CCU Advanced Teaching

2019 National Chung Cheng University Social Responsibility and Sustainability Report Section 3.1 page 24-29 highlights the following event as Quality Education to achieve the SDGs. In order to provide an advanced and intelligent teaching environment for teachers and students, we established various special laboratories and digital course recording areas, etc. So as to continue to complete the teaching assistant systems, we push the education in AI, program language, robot self-learning, and innovation start-up business, etc. to fully complete intelligence teaching and learning system as well as to create the areas that suit for teaching and learning. Meanwhile, our school encourages teachers to form interdisciplinary professional groups (e.g. MOOCs courses, digital and online materials, VR teaching materials) and to employ innovative teaching methods (e.g. problem-based learning, communicative language teaching, and flipped teaching) to promote quality of teaching. Besides the professional knowledge learning in departments, we cultivate students to be capable in main abilities, innovated in entrepreneurship and career development potential by providing students complete general education, multiple foreign language courses, and the courses like implementation, topic subject, and fieldwork.

According to different age groups and market needs, we design competency-oriented and future-oriented various training and growth courses and provide multiple and flexible training channels, including credit classes, non-credit classes, labour promotion, and government-commissioned courses.

Section 7.1.4 Long-term Energy Saving Measures

2019 National Chung Cheng University Social Responsibility and Sustainability Report Section 7.1.4 page 117-118 highlights the following event as Clear Water and Sanitation to achieve the SDGs. 1.        Build a rainwater r ecycling system to collect rainwater and use it for irrigation and flushing water after appropriate treatment. 2.        Purchase non-frequency conversion air-conditioning and require an energy-saving controller (the lowest temperature is 26℃, automatic power-off in 3 hours). 3.        Establish a campus electricity and water resources monitoring system to effectively grasp the real-time water and electricity situation and records of the whole school. Furthermore, the addition of pipeline flowmeters in the campus water pipeline network area can speed up the judgment of water leakage and shorten the repairing time.

Section 7.1.12 Sewage Disposal

2019 National Chung Cheng University Social Responsibility and Sustainability Report Section 7.1.12 page 128 highlights the following event as Clear Water and Sanitation to achieve the SDGs. CCU has the perfect sewage treatment plant to deal with water resource and utilization. The sewage produced from campus has gone through activated sludge method process and reach the sewage emission standard of Environmental Protection Administration. The treated effluent does not only replenish the tranquil lake of the school but is also used for the cleaning of the sludge machine in the factory or watering flowers, plants and trees. Water resources are properly used to achieve environmental sustainability. The maximum daily water treatment capacity is about 2,000 tons. School Life sewage and laboratory washing wastewater are treated to maintain the normal flow of domestic sewage. Laboratory washing wastewater discharge pipelines and pipelines are regularly maintained. And in addition, implement the treatment and reuse of wastewater.

In 2018-2019, the investment funds of campus power supply transformer load rate increase and energy-saving improvement project were 18,369,372 (in thousand TMD) 2. In 2018, the investment funds of sports center high-efficiency heat pump hot water energy saving improvement project were 5,281.869 (in thousand TMD) 3. In 2017, sports center air conditioning and energy management system energy-saving performance assurance project were 18,415.2 (in thousand TMD) 4. In 2016, replacing library lighting with energy saving performance contracts (ESCO) were 15,617.694 (in thousand TMD) 5. In 2015-2015, the renewal project loop line and transformer increase load rate improvement project were 17,435.039 (in thousand TMD) 6. In 2015, the campus power loop line and transformer increase load rate improvement project were 5,730 (in thousand TMD) 7. Section 7.1.6 Fuel-saving measures

In line with the four-saving plan, with 2007 as the base period, the school oil saving rate from 2008 to 2015 reached 17%. At this stage, the goal is to maintain zero growth in oil consumption between 2017 and 2020 compared with 2015.

The school actively prioritized the purchase of environmentally friendly products with environmental protection labels and energy as well as water-saving labels according to the Government Procurement Law. Measures for authorities to prioritize the purchase of environmental protection products, and resource recycling method. Since 2015, the green procurement ratio has reached the EPA green procurement performance target of 90% every year, and the management effect has been excellent.

Section 5.3 Complaint Mechanism

2019 National Chung Cheng University Social Responsibility and Sustainability Report Section 5.3 page 89-90 highlights the following event as Decent Work and Economic Growth to achieve the SDGs. (1) In order to protect the rights and interests of teachers, the University has established a Teacher Appeals and Review Committee in accordance with Article 22 of the University Regulation, the “Guidelines for the Organization and Review of the Teacher Appeals and Review Committee” issued by the Ministry of Education, and Article 40 of the “Organizational Rules and Regulations of National Chung Cheng University”. (2) Staff Complaints: - On-campus Staff : In order to protect the rights and interests of the staff, National Chung Cheng University has established the ""Organization and Points of Deliberation of the National Chung Cheng University Staff Appeals Review Committee"" in accordance with the Civil Service Protection Act and Article 29 of the university rules of procedure. - Mechanics and Workers: In order to protect the rights and interests of mechanics and workers, to promote campus harmony, and to function as a support to academic administration, the ""Guidelines for Establishing a Mechanic and Worker Appeal Review Committee of National Chung Cheng University"" are established in accordance with the provisions of the university organizational rules. (3) Student Complaints : In order to protect the rights and interests of students, promote campus harmony, and give full play to its educational functions, the University has established the Regulations for the Establishment of the Student Appeals Review Committee and Handling of Student Appeals in accordance with Article 33, Section 4 of the University Law and Article 35 of the Rules and Regulations of the University. The procedure and notes on the handling of complaints are available in the New Student Handbook, the school official website and the website of the business unit (Counseling Center) for student enquiries and reference.
