Offshore fishing is a primary industry in Taiwan and is important to diplomacy as well. The scale and fishing power of Taiwan's offshore fishing industry has made Taiwan one of the key players in global trade. In recent years, Taiwan's offshore fishing industry has been repeatedly named by international public opinion and has been listed in the 2015 EU Yellow Card, the 2020 U.S. Department of Labor Forced Labor List, and the 2021 U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) International Fisheries Management Improvement Report. With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), we invited the Taiwan Tuna Association, the representative of large tuna fishing vessels in Taiwan, to join hands with the research team of the College of Social Sciences and the College of Engineering to discuss the issues of sustainable fisheries and corporate social responsibility (CSR) from "point-line The research team is working to establish a platform for stakeholder dialogue and cooperation through academic strengths, and to utilize cutting-edge technologies such as big data and blockchain to work with industries and labor to create a human-centered and appropriate labor policy for the ocean.
